Report on “INDEPENDENCE DAY 2018”

India celebrates Independence Day on August 15, 1947, so as a gazzeted holiday is held annually to remember this date. The holiday is observed throughout India with flag hoisting ceremonies, parades and cultural events.

NEPNI School of Nursing also celebrated this day by unfurling of the National flag by our invited Chief Guest Prof. Dr Ilias Ali, M.S, Professor of Surgery, Global Hospital, HOD Emergency Medicine, Gauhati Medical College. After hoisting of the National Flag, a short programme was being organized. The programme started with a welcome song by 3rd Year GNM students followed by felicitation of the Chief Guest by our Executive President Mr. Babul Ali, NEPNI School of Nursing. The Chief Guest, Mr. Ilias Ali was then invited to deliver a short speech on the occasion. Later on a drama was being presented by our students highlighting the significance of our National Flag. Executive President Mr. Babul Ali, GNM Principal Maam Mrs. Bina Borah and Mr. Harendra Nath Haloi, School Advisor also delivered short speech from their side covering various topics like how India became Independent, how to work hard in order to achieve success in life, etc. on the grand occasion.

The program ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Champa Saikia, English Tutor, NEPNI School of Nursing, Ghy.
