BPT (Bachelor in Physiotherapy) Course:
4 years course + 6 months compulsory internship.
Eligibility:
• 10+2 passed having English as a subject in science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as mandatory subjects with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized Board/Council.
• A candidate should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission to the B.P.T. Degree Course.
• Every candidate must furnish a medical certificate of physical fitness from an authorised Government Medical Officer certifying that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the Physiotherapy course before admission.
• Candidates will be accepted with CUET & NEET, CEE Scores for BPT admission.
SCOPE
• Placement in both State and Central Govt. Hospitals and Multi-specialty hospitals in India and abroad, also working as a clinical Instructor in a Physiotherapy Institution.
• Once qualified, a Physiotherapist can work in multispecialty hospitals, rehabilitation centres, in sports and fitness centres, Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, Pediatric Rehabilitation Centre for Special children, Early Intervention care unit for Physiotherapy centre which provides Specialised support and services to young children with disabilities, developmental delays, etc., Geriatric Rehabilitation Centre for elderly people.
• Opting for private practice and setting up private clinics, physiotherapists can treat a variety of patients.
• Due to globalization, there is a wide range of demand for physiotherapists in our country to work in large corporate sectors and industries that provide health care delivery centres for their employees. They can have 'on-the-spot study' of employees at workplaces and provide ergonomic advice to them to avoid physical pain associated with particular posture and type of work.
• Some graduates may like to acquire a postgraduate qualification in various specializations like Physiotherapy in Musculoskeletal and sports, Neurological conditions, cardio respiratory conditions, Paediatrics & Child Health, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Community Based Rehabilitation and work as teaching faculty in different institutions of physiotherapy and train the young students in the art and science of physiotherapy.
• Graduates can pursue their job abroad with the fulfillment of eligibility criteria due to its large demand and requirements, and also can work as teachers in different institutions of physiotherapy.
• Physiotherapy in sports, in which working as a Sports Physiotherapist is involved in the prevention and management of injuries from sport and exercise participation at all ages and all levels of ability, also working in a Sports rehabilitation centre as a sports physiotherapist.
• A graduate can also work as a Consultant Physiotherapist, Physiotherapist in Physiotherapy OPD, ICU setup, and Critical care Units like Cardiothoracic, Cardiorespiratory, or Cardiopulmonary and Neonatal Pediatric ICU in Hospitals.
