Independence Day reminds us of all the sacrifices our freedom fighters made for the country’s future. In the last 72 years of independence, India has made progress in every field, be it education or its military and space programmes. This day is observed throughout India with flag hoisting ceremonies, parades and cultural events.
NEPNI School of Nursing also celebrates this day with great zeal every year. This year, the day began with flag hoisting by our invited Chief Guest Smt. Chikimiki Talukdar, Chairperson, Assam State commission for Women, Guwahati. After hoisting of the National Flag, a short programme was being organized. The programme started with a welcome song by 2nd year GNM students followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guest by our GNM Principal, Mrs. Bina Borah. The Chief Guest was then invited to deliver a speech on the occasion and after that lamp lighting ceremony was done. Executive president Mr. Babul Ali, GNM Principal Ma’am Mrs. Bina Borah, Mrs. Nizara Das, Retired Principal Bsc. Nursing College ,Silchar, Mrs. Junumoni Saikia, Retired Associate Professor, Regional College of Nursing, Guwahati also delivered short speech from their side covering various topics like how India become independent , how to work hard in order to achieve success in life, etc. on the grand occasion.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Raihana Akhtar, senior tutor, NEPNI School of Nursing, Guwahati.
