REPORT ON “INTERNATIONAL EPILEPSY DAY”

International Epilepsy Day is observed on every second Monday of February. It is observed to raise awareness on Epilepsy, promote research and learning, strengthening treatment facilities and to eliminate misconceptions related to Epilepsy.
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder which causes unprovoked and unpredictable seizures where 60% of the cause is unknown. It may be caused due to diseases of the brain like Meningitis, trauma, infections, tumors etc.
This time, Royal School of Nursing proposed to organize the event in collaboration with NEPNI School of Nursing. The program started with a Welcome Address, lamp lighting and felicitation of Dean-cum-Principal, Royal School of Nursing Dr. Gitumoni Konwar, Executive President Mr. Babul Ali, NEPNI School of Nursing and Principal of NEPNI School of Nursing. All the faculties of Royal School of Nursing and NEPNI School of Nursing along with the students were present in the event. Then a lecture session on Epilepsy was delivered by senior faculty of Royal School of Nursing. After that a panel of judges from Royal School of Nursing judged posters prepared by students of our school. Prize was distributed to the winner and the event ended with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Bina Borah, Principal of GNM, NEPNI School of Nursing.
