World Health Day
7th April, 2017
The World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on 7th April, under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Like every year, this year also the students of NEPNI School of Nursing celebrated “World Health Day” on 7th April at the school premises. The theme for 2017 is “Depression: Let’s Talk” which means now a days it is necessary to talk about depression as it is a common problem for all. Though depression affects all people across all demographic groups, it is more common among teens, adolescents, youth, women after childbirth and those above 60. This day is seen as an opportunity to draw worldwide attention to a subject of major importance to global health each year. On this day our Tutors Ms Seemarekha Kakati and Ms Lakhimi Gogoi delivered a speech on depression, its types, symptoms and its prevention. One of our student Ms. Zarjina Begum has also delivered a speech on depression. All the teaching and non-teaching staff of NEPNI School of Nursing participated in the programme and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by our Principal Mrs. Bina Borah.
